China is facing a number of challenges and opportunities in responding to and anticipating possible climate risks and impacts. This lecture provides the audience with an overview of climate risk and adaption policy making in China. It introduces China's complex development context through the lens of climate change. It takes a look at some of the socio-economic and environmental conditions in which China's climate response must take place, it also provides an overview of key adaption policies China has implemented and how China is trying to mainstream climate resilience into national and provincial socio-economic planning.
